Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

It’s May which means that Mother’s Day is right around the corner. I know you’re probably in need of some last minute Mother’s Day gift ideas. So, I’ve curated a list of gift ideas as well as activities for your mom, wife, or special woman in your life.

GIFT IDEAS

Framed Photo

This can be such a cute and even sentimental gift with the right photo. Frame a photo that showcases a favorite trip you both went on, a favorite memory when you were a child with your mother, a moment when she was holding you in her arms as a baby, or a photo when she was pregnant of you. To add an extra touch, print the image in a larger scale and in B&W with a black frame.

One for the Books

There are so many books that are a must read. If she’s a book lover, search for books that are inspired and written by women. A few examples, “I Am Malala” or Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” are good reads.

Affirmation Cuff

Affirmation cuffs are such a hit and they are jewelry pieces that will last a lifetime. These cuffs easily pair up with any outfit and jewelry piece. They can always be customized, so choose a favorite quote or saying that she’ll love such as “Gratitude” or “She Believed She Could, So She Did.”

Comfy Silk PJ Set & Slippers

Nothing screams comfort than brand new sleepwear and slippers. If they are silk, even better. Some sets even include a sleep mask.

Gratitude Journal

Writing in a journal in itself can be therapeutic and relaxing. If she’s into writing her thoughts on paper, a leather bound journal is the way to go. You can also step it up a level and gift her a Gratitude Journal that she can write in when she wakes up and before bedtime.

Order Flowers from a Local Business

This is a great opportunity to help support local floral shops. Research some cute shops and not only customize a floral arrangement, but at the same time you’ll be showing support to a local business, especially during tough times. They’ll be fresh bouquets and much cuter than what you’d find at a commercial store.

Shopping for the Business Woman (Boss Babe)

If she’s her own boss and/or works from home, this is a good opportunity to purchase items that would be useful for her. Does she need a new planner? A new laptop?

A case for her business cards? Is there something missing from her desk that she doesn’t have? This is the perfect time to get creative and look at the details that occupy her life as a boss.

Favorite Fragrance

Fragrances can be very tricky to choose for someone, but if you already know of a current favorite, stick with that. Women love to smell nice, so pick up her favorite bottle at the store. Check if there is a gift set already created which will include the fragrance, lotion, travel sample and sometimes even shower gel.

Skincare Set

A morning and evening skincare routine is crucial. There are so many great products for all ages and that specialize specifically for certain needs and you can find some great gift sets. Figure out what her favorite brand is or surprise her with one that has had good reviews.

Candles and Diffusers

Nothing like a nice smelling home. There are amazing candles with lovely scents. If you’re wanting to stay away from chemicals, soy candles are a great alternative or you can find great diffusers available on Amazon with their essential oils (Lavender is a favorite as it’s a soothing and calming scent).

Cookware Set

You can find some really nice cookware sets at Costco. Great for stove tops or ovens. They are popular and come in different colors that the chef in her will appreciate.

Beauty Gift Boxes

Some beauty locations are creating gift boxes that include items such as morning/evening moisturizers, serums, lip balms, etc. Check your local beauty shops and see what they have available. There are many great ones that will tackle all of her skin/beauty needs.

ACTIVITY IDEAS

If you’re in need to squeeze in some last minute activities, I’ve created a brief list that will hopefully get you started:

  • Weekend Getaway
  • Make a reservation to have brunch
  • Book an appointment for either a Facial or Massage
  • Cook her favorite meal
  • Relaxing drive to the coast/countryside
  • Take her shopping and have her choose her gift
  • Go on a hike/walk
  • Outdoor picnic
  • Visit a Winery (sip or tour)
  • Visit a local tea shop
  • Dinner & a movie at the house

I hope this post has helped you get a few ideas or at least to provide guidance as to how you can start your research. It’s not really so much about the gift, but about the love and time shared on this special day. Take a look at my Holiday Gift Guide for additional ideas that can also be helpful for any occasion.
