My Favorite Fragrances for Winter

What I love about the colder months is being able to wear warmer fragrances that I normally wouldn’t be able to wear during the warmer months (unless it’s an evening out or a special occasion). My favorite fragrances for winter are a must, especially if you love the scents of musk and Jasmine.

“No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory.” Coco Chanel

Gucci Guilty Eau de Parfum/Eau de Toilette

What it is: A rich eau de parfum that combines superior floral notes with enhanced natural fragrances.

Fragrance story: This scent fuses together the men’s and women’s perfumes to embody a declaration of self-expression and fearlessness, conjured up by the statement #ForeverGuilty. Top notes of mandora—a fruit found in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus—is smoothed out by notes of natural bergamot and pink pepper. Lilac, contrasted with rosy and violet notes, is layered with geranium oil, resulting in a nuanced heart. Base notes of patchouli are combined with ambery notes for an enduring sillage.

Notes:

– Top: mandora, pink pepper.

– Middle: lilac, geranium oil.

– Base: patchouli, amber.

Please note, the above image is the version that I absolutely fell in love with. I’m holding on to what little I have left. The images below is the newest version of Gucci Guilty, but it’s the Eau de Toilette. I had found that the new version of Eau de Parfum no longer smells the same and the scent has changed (a lot of brands tend to revamp the scents every X years). Eau de Toilette is the one that smells like the previous version, but just know that the longevity of the scent is no longer the same. It disappears within a half hour, so if you don’t mind spritzing a few times throughout the day, then you will love this and the scent resembles very much like the previous Eau de Parfum.

Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge Eau de Parfum

What it is: A floral fragrance that unveils the decadence of the jasmine flower.

Fragrance story: Jasmin Rouge is a perfume with an unexpected and voluptuous blend of precious sambac jasmine absolute, clary sage and spices, including black and white peppercorn.

Style: Floral.

Notes: Jasmine, clary sage, amber.

I’m someone who loves the smell of Jasmine. It adds a touch of elegance and sophistication that suits everybody. It has been the perfect scent to wear during special occasions, but this can also throughout the day during the colder months and you don’t need to reapply as it has a long lasting power.

Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum

What it is: A reinvention of floral perfume—this unique, warm floral fragrance for women is for those who do what they want and dare to be exactly who they are.

Fragrance story: This perfume for women combines lavender essence from France with the sensual citrus smell of Moroccan orange blossom, creating a unique, long-lasting floral fusion that’s complemented by a daring woody note of musk accord. Wrapped with the iconic Yves Saint Laurent logo, the fragrance bottle is a couture statement.

Style: Warm, floral

Notes:

– Top: lavender essence

– Middle: orange blossom

– Base: musk accord

When I was looking for a new scent to replace the previous version of Gucci Guilty, I came across this one. I don’t know how many scents the lady from the counter had me smell, but this one the one that stood out to me. It’s beautiful and also a scent that adds that extra something special without it being too much. If you love Gucci Guilty, you will love this one. I’m making another note that the longevity wear on this isn’t as lasting and you will need to spritz a few times throughout the day. Also, the Eau de Toilette is much lighter and beautiful as well.

Dior J’adore Eau de Parfum

What it is: An eau de parfum that is an ideal bouquet, finely crafted down to the last detail like a custom-made flower.

Fragrance story: A spectacularly feminine and sensual Dior perfume for women, J’adore Eau de Parfum is a finely crafted bouquet of the world’s most beautiful flowers. The floral-fruity notes of ylang-ylang give the fragrance its bright top note before unveiling the seductive warmth of damascus rose essence and jasmine.

Style: Floral.

Notes:

– Top: ylang-ylang.

– Middle: damascus rose.

– Base: jasmine.

Please note, the scent to this has also been revamped just a tad. It’s still a lovely scent, but the dominate note isn’t the same as before. The longevity has also been impacted and disappears within a half-hour. Another fragrance that you’ll need to spritz throughout the day.

Abercrombie & Fitch No. 1

Confident, effortless and undeniably feminine, Perfume No. 1 is the essence of casual luxury. A&F’s signature scent captures the uniquely carefree spirit of fresh peony, rich tangelo, and lotus blossom. Crisp pine and white pepper combine for a fresh, beautiful fragrance.

I am unsure as to why this fragrance isn’t featured on Abercrombie’s website. The pink version is available, but I’ve noticed they will pull out certain fragrances and then re-release them x years later. This is the scent, in my opinion, truly makes THE Abercrombie scent that we’ve all come to know and love over the years.

Abercrombie & Fitch No. 8

A timeless floral favorite, this scent is made for confident, stylish girls. The perfect combination of floral with a bit of edge, the essences of peach, jasmine and warm sandalwood come together seamlessly. Sleek and luminous, the statement-making bottle’s design captures the light, making Perfume 8 infinitely pretty in every way.

During my University days, this was the scent I wore and always adored it. There was a time where it became discontinued and then was recently brought back. This scent I wear during my casual/sporty days. Many will probably agree or disagree as to what age is the most appropriate to wear this, but as a woman in my mid 30’s, I still love it. Age is nothing but a number and if you enjoy something, continue to use it.
