I’m back with another blog post for you all and this one is truly close to my heart. A few weeks ago I stopped by at Silverado Portland within the Bridgeport Village mall in Tualatin, OR. I have been so happy with a pair of earrings I recently purchased that I was in search for a piece that would become a staple. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for, but would know once I would see it.
I saw so many jewelry pieces that caught my eye, but what really spoke out to me the most were these simple bangles that were displayed in a case. Each bangle was different from the other in the sense they contained different words and quotes. Now, if you’ve followed me for a while, I’m sure you will know that I’m a sucker for powerful words and quotes. I thought this was an interesting concept and knew I had found exactly the piece that would belong in my jewelry collection for many years to come. The only challenge, was choosing one word or quote that reflected who I was or had some deeper meaning for me.
There were so many quotes and words that it felt like ages until I finally settled on one: Gratitude. Simple, but holds so much. Bonus points as these bangles were made from a local artist: Saucy Jewelry. I always enjoy supporting local artists and businesses.
This post comes in a perfect time because today was a really good day that I knew I couldn’t hold back on writing this post because all I felt today was nothing but Gratitude. This word alone reminds me of all the struggles, obstacles, unknowing paths I had to take in order to get to where I am now. Out of everything, I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by wonderful people and family. I have a job that really wants to help me learn, grow, and succeed. The opportunities provided are immense that I still cannot wrap my mind around it.
I have found myself sleeping and waking up with this bangle. I wear it with me everywhere. Through a not-so-good day to wonderful surprises, I just take a look at it and it reminds me to always stay humble and be grateful for everything that I have and achieved.
